The Hodag Muskie Challenge is a Catch and Release Tournament sponsored by Rhinelander Toyota and the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit organization. In its 27th year, the HMC is touted as one of the most prestigious muskie tournaments in the Midwest. Many fishermen come back year after year to try their skill and luck at the highly sought after first place championship. 

Determination of HMC Tournament Cash Prizes and Cash Placements
With a 160 team capacity and $250 entry fee per team,  Prizes are awarded on a point system of 30 points for each legal muskie caught plus one point for each 1/4 inch over legal size. (Legal Size is 34")  Prizes are based on total points accumulated during the two days of fishing. In case of a tie, the two place prizes will be combined and divided equally among the contestants.

50" Musky
The first 50" or larger Musky caught and successfully released will win a boat, motor and trailer.

Largest Musky
The largest Musky caught and successfully released each day will win $250.00. Each team that catches and successfully releases a Musky but does not finish in the top 10 will be enetered into a drawing on Sunday to win $250.00

Largest Northern Pike
The largest Northern Pike caught during the tournament will win $250.00.

HMC Musky Pins
Each team member of a team catching and successfully releasing a Musky will receive a HMC Musky Pin.

• Friday, September 10th, 2010 - 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

RULES BRIEFING: Mandatory attendance - all contestants.

• Friday, September 10th, 2010 - 8:00 p.m. 

TOURNAMENT FISHING TIMES:

• Saturday, September 11th, 2010 - 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• Sunday, September 12th, 2010 - 7 a.m. - 12:00 noon

AWARDS CEREMONY:

• Sunday, September. 12th, 2010 - 1 p.m. (Complimentary lunch will be provided)

LAKE SELECTION - YOUR CHOICE OF ONE OF FIVE LAKE GROUPS
Based on first-come, first-served basis. Maximum number of teams allowed in each group shown on right of (lake group name)

GROUP #1 - BOOM LAKE/WISCONSIN RIVER (50)
GROUP #2 - CRESCENT LAKE/LAKE JULIA (25) 
GROUP #3 - MOEN CHAIN (40)
GROUP #4 - ONEIDA LAKE / LAKE HANCOCK (20)
GROUP #5 - LAKE GEORGE / LAKE THOMPSON (25) 

SELECTED RULES:  THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE LIST OF TOURNAMENT RULES. ADDITIONAL RULES, RIGHTS AND OBLIGATION OF CONTESTANTS WILL BE PROVIDED AT THE RULES BRIEFING.

• ONE OR TWO PERSON TEAMS, LIMIT TWO CONTESTANTS PER BOAT
• LIMITED TO FIRST 160 TEAMS REGISTERED
• ENTRY FEE - $250 PER BOAT
• ALL BOATS MUST HAVE LIVE WELL OR APPROPRIATE CONTAINER MEASURING AT LEAST 34"
• CONTESTANTS MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR FISH WITH OR HAVE WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM LEGAL GUARDIAN
• MOTOR TROLLING OR ROW TROLLING IS NOT ALLOWED
• EACH PERSON FISHING IS ALLOWED ONLY ONE (1) LINE IN THE WATER AT ANY TIME MAXIMUM TWO LINES PER BOAT 
• NO LIVE BAIT ALLOWED
• ALL WISCONSIN RULES AND REGULATIONS SHALL BE FOLLOWED, EXCEPT WHERE HMC RULES PREVAIL
• A 20 % FEE WILL BE WITHHELD ON CANCELLATIONS PRIOR TO SEPTEMBER 3RD 2010 NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER SEPTEMBER 3RD 2010
• ALL TEAM MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE RULES MEETING ON FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 10TH 2010 AT 8:00 P.M.
• ALL CONTESTANTS MUST REGISTER IN PERSON
• LIVE WELLS MUST BE OPENED AND INSPECTED PRIOR TO FISHING SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
• THE LAKE OFFICIAL'S DECISION ON FISH MEASUREMENT IS FINAL. PROTESTS AND APPEALS WILL FOLLOW THE DEFINED PROCESS OUTLINE IN THE HMC RULES
