Rhinelander 2008 Fishing Events
- March 2nd - Northern Pike & Walleye Season Closes
- May 3rd - Opening Day of Fishing ( Exception of Musky - Large & Smallmouth Bass Catch & Release)
- May 24th - Musky Fishing Opens
- June 2nd & 3rd - Sugar Camp Walleye Classic-held on the Sugar Camp Chain of Lakes, a 2-person team tournament, $160 per team with monetary prizes based on entrants. Proceeds benefit non-profit organizations. 715-479-7651 for more info.

Winners:
1st Place Barry Haff 1 fish caught at 45 inches, 74 points. $750.00 2nd Place Matt Knudson 1 fish caust at 38 1/4 inches, 47 points. $375.00 3rd Place Sam Drainz 1 fish caught at 37 3/4 inches, 45 points. $200.00 4th Place Jim Volzka 1 fish caught at 35 3/4 inches, 37 points. $100.00. 5th Place Jeremy Peck 1 fish caught at 34 1/4 inches, 36 points. $75.00.
Barry Haff received $25 and a plaque for the Largest Muskie of the tournament and Dan Hirmann received $25 and a plaque for Largest Northern of the tournament.

Tournament Notes - First muskie registered of the tournament was last years winner Lee Bastian and his son Paul Bastian.
The largest muskie, 47 1/2", of the tournament was caught on Pelican Lake by Scott Gindt and Brian Gindt.

Tourney Notes: In the history on the Boom Lake tournament the 48" is the 2nd largest Muskie ever caught and released. In 2003 Sam Krainz caught and released a 49 3/4". The Rhinelander Chamber would like to Thank all of the anglers and fine people who enjoyed the tournament.

Winners::

Lee Bastian and Scott Hansen, both of Rhinelander caught a 44" and a 39" muskie on Lake George. Bastian and Hansen took first place and won $20,000.00.
Kevin Black of Sun Praire, WI and Phil Graham of Waunakee took second place with a 44" and a 37 1/2" muskie caught on the Moens Chain.
Dean Calhoun and Mike Lazers won third place, $2500, with a 43 1/2" and 36" also caught on the Moens Chain. $1000.00
Fourth Place went to Greg Van Zeeland and Tom woods with a 38" and a 37 1/2" muskie caught on Lake George.
Fifth place $550.00 went to Robert Petrusky and Rick Merrill with a 46 1/4 " muskie caught on Lake George.
Sixth place $550.00 went to John Schweizer & Matt Sexton with a 45 1/4" muskie caught on Lake Thompson.
Seventh place $450.00 went to Luke Starks & Collin Tailifer with a muskie of 44 1/2" off of Boom Lake.
Eighth place $350.00 Adam Wiese & Scott Biscobing with a 35 1/2" muskie from Oneida Lake.
Ninth place tied with both teams recieving $225.00, Richard Hirman & Jerry Hirman with two muskie's of 34" & 35 1/4 off of Boom Lk. and Richard Eisenman & Robert Jelinek with one 42 3/4" muskie from Oneida Lake.
